"Where are you located?"
Gosto Futsal is located at 31 Vreeland Ave, Totowa New Jersey. Our northern New Jersey location provides easy acess from Route 80 and Route 46
"Is futsal worth the drive to Totowa?"
The programs run at GFA are of the highest caliber. As of Febuary 2009, we had over 80 teams using our facility. Teams from Newark, Fort Lee, Parsippany and Clifton are regulars at our league play while teams from North Rockland, Brooklyn, and Cherry Hill have participated in our well run tournaments.
"How do I know if futsal is right for my team?"
Although realatively new to the United States, futsal has a rich foundation as one of the essential building blocks for technical and tactical soccer development. From its inception in 1930's Uruguay, futsal's popularity has exploded. This is becasue futsal is based on the priniciples that make soccer such a wonderful sport. The game is designed to keep players constantly involved, interchanging positions, and using their brains, insteasd of physical strength to defeat opponents. It is common for many of the Brazilian stars of the past and present to start off with futsal before transitioning to 11v11 soccer.
"Ive been to too many indoor facilites with my team/child over the years. Many of them are old or have too many things going on to be particually good at any one of them. How is GFA different?"
We took those too common complaints to mind when GFA started in 2009. Our 20,000 sq. ft. state of the art facility was created and designed with the intention that futsal would be the primary sport played at our facility. Here at GFA, providing high quality futsal year round to our surronding communites, is our primary goal.
"What is Open play?"
Our open play programs are designed to get youth and adults to play soccer for the pure fun of the sport. during open play there are no referees and no scores kept. Our goal is to get kids to play futsal in a medium that allows for maximum experimentation, creativitiy, and most importantly; fun!
"Why should I bring my kid to open play?"
While there is definite benifit from structured teams, leagues, and tournaments; too many of us have forgotten about the benifits that come from simply playing for no other reason than just to play. The response for our open play programs are overwhellmingly positive. For a fee of $10, your child will be provided a stress free enviornment to play for the simple love of the game. No kids sitting on the bench during game changing moments, no feeling bad about letting your team down, no coaches yelling instructions every minute, just futsal.
"Open play looks really fun, can I do that?"
Of course! The hours for adult open play are listed on the main page of our website. When going on, adult open play occurs on both pitches; So you'll be able to find a game played at your pace and intensity.
"It's so hard to find practice space during the winter, How can GFA help?"
GFA realizes that as the demand/proces for school gym rental increases, it becomes harder to find a practice location that your team can use on a regualr basis. Here at GFA, we are more than willing to work with you and the needs of your team to find practice time at our 31 Vreeland Ave, Totowa NJ location. Our facility is fully lit, contains a HVAC system to ensure that your team's practice occurs at a comfortable temperature, and provides adequate parking.
"I see that you guys run futsal leagues, whats the deal with that?"
Here at GFA we currently run futsal leagues all year round, one in the winter, one in the spring, and one in the fall. We have divisions for Men, women, and youth at various age and skill levels. Each league is 10 weeks long. Prices can be found on the webpage.
"How can I make sure my team is going to play at an appropriate age/skill level?"
Salvatore Zito, (sal@gostofutsal.com) our USFF liason and league administrator, will get all of the necessary information that is needed from you to accuratly place your team. GFA will then contact you and discuss the various options that we can provide to meet the specific needs and goals of your team.
"Do you guys run tournaments?"
Of course, At GFA, not only are we always running tournamanets, but we are always looking to run more. GFA has sucessfully run tournaments for adults as well as vasrious youth age groups. If there is a specific team/club that you would like to face please let us know. At GFA we will not limit your competition and are constantly looking for new, eagar, quality participants.
"What training programs do GFA offer?"
GFA offers 8-12 week training programs for small groups and the individual soccer player. Our training program is specifically focused on using futsal to increase the player's ball handling skills, and comfort in small sspaces.
"My son/daughter loves futsal and GFA, but his/her team is going outdoors soon. What can I do?"
There are at least three ways that Gosto Futsal can help. First, Gosto Futsal offers high quality training programs for indivudals and small groups. Second, our open play programs allows for your soccer palyer tyo gain skills, touch, and soccer intelligence in a forum that is pressure free and encourages experimentation. Third, because futsal ahs five palyers oni a field at any one time; a futsal team can be fomred with 7-8 players and a qualified coach/parent.
"You guys at Gosto Futsal seem to have a well run program, However I sill need some more information before I make a decision. Is there anyone I can talk to?"
The best way to see what goes on at Gosto Futsal is to take a trip down to our Totowa facility. We always have something going on. We have put our calendar up on our website if u wish to see a specific event.
